Not all pet-friendly hotels and accommodations are created equal. Pet policies vary greatly between hotels and accommodations. Some hotels only allow dogs; Some only allow small animals under 25 pounds, others have a maximum of two pets, and nearly all of them charge a fee—ranging from $10 per night to a non-refundable deposit of over $100 (aka pet fee).
However, there are some distinct pet-friendly hotel chains that allow your four-legged friend to stay for free.
Motel 6
This budget hotel chain was one of the first to allow pets. Conveniently located along all major highways, the Motel 6 is a favorite of travelers looking for a lodging along their travel route. All Motel 6 properties allow service animals and well-behaved pets (unless they pose a safety risk or are prohibited by law). And the best part is, they stay free!
Red Roof hotels
These hotel chains do a great job of welcoming your four-legged friend (they even have a Facebook page dedicated to them called Red Roof Luvs Pets). All 345 Red Roof Inns locations are pet friendly and all allow pets to stay for free. Their motto is You Stay Happy, Pets Stay Free!
no quinta
Well-behaved pets are welcome at all but 4 of the more than 800 La Quinta locations. La Quinta is known for providing high quality service and providing its guests with many of the features and amenities of upscale hotels. Most importantly, La Quinta does not charge pet guests for their stay. When booking online, be sure to mention that you are traveling with your pet in the Special Requests section. If you are calling to make a reservation, be sure to tell the reservation agent.
Kimpton hotels
Kimpton Hotels is a pet-friendly boutique hotel chain that raises the bar when it comes to being pet-friendly. As part of their program, hosPETality, in addition to keeping pets free, we welcome any number of pets regardless of size, weight, type, or breed.
