Tulum is simply the jewel of the Mayan Riviera Trail. It is a divers paradise. Underground rivers unite from all over the Yucatan Peninsula and Mexico’s Riviera Maya. Tulum is divided into three main areas: Tulum City, Tulum Hotel District, and the magical archaeological site of Tulum. The city borders Highway 307, where commercial and social activities take place. It is 130 km / 80 miles from Cancun.

Tulum’s magic begins in its impressive archaeological sites. It is the most famous of the Mayan sites in Mexico, and for many good reasons. Tulum is surrounded by three walls and with the perimeter forming the fourth boundary, the city was designed to be defensive. Tulum is one of the most visited Mayan ruins, and is also the only major Mayan ruin to be found along Mexico’s Caribbean coast on the ‘Riviera Maya’. Tulum is undoubtedly one of the most amazing archaeological sites in the Mayan world and is considered one of the most beautiful archaeological sites of the Mayan civilization. Tulum is by no means the largest, but its location serves as a stunning backdrop to its history.

Tulum is more than just a sun-drenched getaway: it’s home to vast Mayan ruins, freshwater springs to swim in, and amazing ecotourism. It is a mixture of beach coast, archaeological area and city. Tulum offers its visitors an excellent place for physical and spiritual relaxation, the possibility to practice meditation or yoga, take a traditional Maya Temazcal steam bath, or enjoy a blissful beach massage.

Built with natural and simple architecture, the Tulum hotel area truly blends in with the natural surroundings. It leans toward the beach cabana style, offering everything from simple lodging options to the newer, chicer and more expensive ones. The hotel area is a mile east on the beach, as is the famous Mayan Tulum ruins. Hotels are just steps away from the beach which are mostly small, low rise and very simple. The hotel area of Tulum has a few hotels and cottages on this 9km stretch, coming out of town and turning left you have 3km and turning right 6km.

Tulum is also surrounded by lush jungle filled with crystal clear freshwater pools called cenotes that provide a refreshing reproduction of a tropical setting. Tulum can be crowded and hot, so it’s best to visit in the morning before the tour boats and bus groups arrive around 10:00. Mother Nature’s crystal freshwater tubs steeped in Mayan history and rituals. they Tulum hotels They have very different styles, prices, and amenities.
